SiS Youth Home Vemyra, located outside Sollefteå, receives school-age boys up to 16 years old with psychosocial problems as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to help create the life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your role is to motivate our youth/clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth/clients and are responsible for the basics of daily life such as (schooling), cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You should also have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area. Exceptions to the requirement for at least two years of post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
• Driver's license B.
• Good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., prison officer.
• Security guard training.
• Training in care and nursing.
• Experience working with our target group of young boys.

Employment

The position is a permanent position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
